I'm doing a Mon-Tue, Thu-Fri split this week (from my usual Mon, Wed, Fri-Sat) as I'll be going back for the weekend. Tolerable, but my lifts just sucked from accidentally not taking creatine post-workout.
This is my medium week, in which I'll perform my main lifts up to 85% of my calculated 1RM for at least 5 reps.
Mon:
As usual deadlift day. Did my 85% (90 kg) for 7 reps with fatigue but not technical failure before stopping as I felt that 7 was already enough.
Tue:
This one sucked. Last week I did my 90% (60 kg) for 6 reps before stopping. I stopped at 6 reps with just my 85% (57 kg), and I noticed that I had to labor through each rep. I hope I pass next week's heavy week "tests".
Lessons:
1) Don't stop taking creatine when going for strength.
2) Get enough rest. Couldn't do much more actually retrospectively, but it's something always to be aware of.
3) I think I dieted too much. I was not supposed to take carbs post-workout during medium week, but I think I might need to for quick recovery, considering that I was doing back-to-back lifting. Especially for tomorrow and Fri's routine. I'll definitely add a full serving of carbs post-workout.
