"Anti-Medical-Student-Ism"

Among the most interesting thing about being a medical student is that you get lots of  prestige. This is especially true when you look at their treatment by those who do not know them on see-you-everyday level, e.g. patients, relatives, neighbors, heck, you can include parents. Even if you tell others that you have no clinical experience, many of them will still look up to you for advice. You become popular, looked up upon, respected; a William Hung without the William Hung-ness.

This is quite different when you ask people who do know them on that see-you-everyday level; there are many of them who are quite uncomfortable with (few even detest) the antics of medical students. I've heard complaints from both students and staff; some of the antics I've seen myself. Some of the negative feelings can be put on us medical students' shoulders; some can't. I'm sure some of it may even be caused by me.

I'm gonna try to investigate these stuff and dissect the situation. Those of you with interesting input/experiences, please share them with me. First, medical students need to know about such a problem. Second, they should know how they contribute to the problem. Lastly, we should think of ways to solve such a problem.

This topic is controversial; I know. I hope everyone will approach this issue like > 20 year-olds; with maturity.

Guess even nerds can be a serious thorn in the ass. Or in this case many asses.
