Training Log - August 10-11 2009

These two days have been brutal on the hands.

Mon:
Did deads up to 102 kg x 6 reps. Hating my grip strength I decided to do 2 holds at the top of the deadlift after that until failure, followed by another hold at 60 kg. The rest of the day wasn't bad. I omitted my chinups considering that I already impulsively did pullups on Saturday during the trip to Bekelah.

Tue:
Benched up to 62 kg x 6 reps. The farmer's walk, bent over DB rows and single leg RDL's though killed my hands after that.

I still think that my grip strength is my limiting factor in my deadlifts, with back endurance a far second. I hope 2 weeks of hammering those hands will allow me to break some (albeit small) PR's during exams (and 1st week of Ramadhan fasting).

Diet is going pretty good. Not too much that I actually feel full, and not too little that I lack energy. Focusing more on preworkout that postworkout nutrition helped (protein powder, a bite of dark chocolate).

Cardio this week will be walking/sprinting in Taman Bandar with Abe, to give the joints a break (especially shoulders) from the probably excessive swimming in the weekend. I wonder if I'll impress the girls if I lift up each girl that calls me fat, followed by a throw into the lake. Hm, bad idea.
